Cape of good journey

Day 2 and 3; Sunday February 27th and Monday 28th

At first; don’t forget to leave a comment by clicking onto “comments” at the end of this entry. Thank you vey much!!

The start couldn’t been better! We arrived in Cape Town, had a good flight and even the jet lag didn’t catch us. Our rental car was tiny, but doesn’t consumes a lot of fuel therefore. Also it has a certain “cute-factor”. Instead for other people reserved the rear seat for our luggage. At the day of arrive we had a very nice dinner at the relvolving restaurant on top of the Ritz Hotel. The only one in Cape Town. The Dinner was delicious and the prices were affordable. The view was just fantastic!  Of course there was a piano player, a women. She had a very strong mimic in her face and that was exactly the way she played on the piano. She coloured her face with a lot of make-up what let her look like a bird out of the jungle. The virtuosity how she played the piano wasn’t near that good as her value of entertainment. After one of those Brutal Fruits, a mix drink of fruit juice and alcohol, we felt into our bed, which was a lot to soft for having a good night in there.

At Sunday we met Aunty Miena, the sister of Gairoo, our friend from South Africa. It’s to say that Gairoo is the whife of Moosa, my friend who I know from work. He and Gairoo are living in Switzerland since about three years. They are all very lovely people and we become more than friends, I think so, we become a part of their family. And that family is very big. We will meet the niece of Gairoo and Miena up in Johannesburg and may spend some days with them. But back to the meeting with Miena. We’ve spent almost the whole day at the Waterfront. That’s a big shopping mall and the meet and greet place not only for the people of cape town but also for many tourists. It was built up from the old harbour quarter by rennovated and new buildings. Years ago it was a very bad place of prostitution and violence. But today it changed completely. Behind every corner another live band is playing music inside of the scenery of that old harbour. Fantastic!

At the next morning we awake from the trains nearby Mienas house at five o clock. Softly rattled out of sleep. After a “breakfast”, to be honest, it was a breakfast, lunch and half a supper together, we started heading up to Namibia. Before, we had a stop at the shopping centre, the Tyger Valley Centre, which was in the normal price section, compared to Waterfront. All we need, we bought. Sunscreen, insect repellent, a prepaid card for the mobile and a “ZA”-Sticker. Especially with that ZA-Sticker a little challenge ended. The guy at the car rental told us that we have to get one of those at any police station. The sticker only shows that the car is registred in South Africa. You need it to leave the South African broders. We asked in about 5 different stores and the police station for that sticker, without having success. But the officer sugessted us to ask in a AA Store. And really, in the AA Store at Tyger Valley I’ve got that sticker. I sticked it onto the metal part of the backside, demontratively, and not onto the windscreen. To push up our egos and to tell that no one never ever should remove what we’ve haunted.

After one or two hours of driving we ariived in Yzerfontain, a small and lovely coast village. Because it was so lovely and also because we don’t have a chance to see the sea again on our further travel, we decided to stay for two nights. We really have to enjoy and we do so. At wednesday we’ll have to drive a longer distance therefore, about 500-600 km, up to the namibian border.
